Your payment plan survives the counter

When you offer on a payment plan, you are choosing two things, not one. A price, and a shape. Eighteen months with nothing down is a different proposal from the same number paid all at once, and the shape is often the part that makes a name affordable at all.

Until now only the price reliably survived the round trip. Our side of a negotiation showed the amount plainly and the plan barely at all, so an offer made on a plan could come back answered as though it were a single payment. That is a confusing thing to receive, and it quietly put the work of noticing onto you.

The plan now travels with the price everywhere we look at a deal — next to your original offer, next to every counter in the thread, and on the form we write our reply in, which states the terms it is about to send before anything goes out. Countering a payment plan keeps it a payment plan.

Nothing has changed about what a plan costs or how one works. What changed is that the terms you chose stay in front of the person answering you.
