Introducing the Platinum tier
The catalog now sorts every name into one of five tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Bargain. Platinum is new — a band above Gold for the small set of names whose appraisals put them clearly apart from the rest.
Tiers are price bands, nothing more mystical than that. Each name's tier follows from its Buy Now price, which in turn follows from its blended appraisals. The tier badge sits next to the name on the catalog and on the detail page, and the tier filter lets you cut the catalog to your budget in one click.
Two honest notes. First, a Bargain-tier name is not a worse name — it is a name the appraisal market currently values lower, which is exactly where patient buyers find their deals. Second, tiers move: when appraisals are refreshed and a price changes, the tier follows the price, in both directions.
